Cookie policy

In short: KALME uses cookies for the platform to work (always active), and statistics and marketing cookies (only with your consent). On your first visit you see a consent window where you can choose which cookie categories to allow. You can change your consent at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer or the button in section 3.1 of this page.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, phone) when you visit it. They help the website recognise you on later visits and provide functions such as authentication.

2. Which cookies we use

2.1. Necessary cookies (always active)

These cookies are needed for the platform to work and cannot be switched off. They are KALME first-party cookies on the kalme.lv domain.

The map also keeps your language choice in the browser's storage (localStorage, key kalme_lang); it is not sent to the server.

2.2. Statistics cookies (only with consent)

They are activated only after your consent in the cookie window (category "Statistics").

Server-side statistics are provided by Cloudflare without cookies.

2.3. Marketing cookies (only with consent)

They are activated only after your consent in the cookie window (category "Marketing").

Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn advertising pixels are currently not switched on on the KALME website. If we switch them on, we will update this policy first.

Google may combine KALME platform data with other data it already holds about you (for example, from your Google account). See the Google privacy policy.

Data transfer outside the EU: these services may transfer your data to the USA or other countries. The transfer is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (SCC) and the relevant data processing agreements.

3. How to manage cookies

3.1. KALME cookie settings

On your first visit you see a cookie consent window where you can choose separately:

Necessary: always active (needed for the platform to work)
Functional: there are currently no cookies in this category
Statistics: Google Analytics
Marketing: Google Ads and kalme_gclid

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer or with this button:

You can also delete the kalme_consent cookie in your browser; the consent window will then appear again.

3.2. Browser settings

Most browsers let you control cookies in their settings. You can:

See which cookies are stored
Delete existing cookies
Block cookies from specific websites
Set a warning before a cookie is stored

Important: if you change settings only in the browser (not in the KALME consent window), the changes apply to all websites, not only KALME.

3.2. Consequences of blocking cookies

If you block necessary cookies, the KALME platform may not work properly:

You will not be able to log in to your account
Publishing listings may not work
You will have to log in again on every page reload

Blocking functional cookies causes less trouble: you only lose your saved settings.

4. Other third-party services

In addition to those listed above (see sections 2.2 and 2.3), some technical elements of the platform come from third parties:

Google Fonts: fonts (DM Sans, JetBrains Mono); may store a font cache
OpenStreetMap and map feeds (Latvian Geospatial Information Agency, State Land Service map services): base map layers
Maplibre GL: map rendering library (from the unpkg.com CDN)

These service providers work under their own privacy terms.

5. Changes to this policy

If we change the cookie policy (for example, add new services), we will update this page and state the date of the change. For significant changes we will also show a pop-up notice on the website.

5.1. Version history

v1.2 (2026-10-23): the cookie table aligned with the cookies actually used: added mkt_sid, kalme_consent, kalme_next, g_state, kalme_gclid (only with marketing consent); removed the unused kalme_session, kalme_auth, kalme_csrf, kalme_layers, kalme_filters; Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn pixels are not switched on; the "Cookie settings" button.
v1.1 (2026-04-30): added the notice on Google Ads Enhanced Conversions cookies (_gcl_aw, _gcl_dc, _gcl_gb); Google Search Console verification is done through a DNS TXT record and adds no cookies; tracking loaded on all legal information pages.
v1.0 (2026-04-26): the original policy with notices on GA4, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Ads and the cookie consent banner.
